Here we have a sweet little circa 1920s Art Deco silver tonneau cased ladies watch, by Bessire of Winterthur, near Zurich. The case has the chequered engraved design to the case which catches the eye, with the fixed silver lugs extending from the ends of the case. The dial is an aged silver tone with the powdered finish. It has swooping stylised Arabic numerals with the thin tops and bottoms, with the railroad minute track to the exterior. There is an inset sub-second register with the neat Lollipop counterbalance sub second hand. The hour and minute hands are thermally blued and shine brightly in the light. They are of Spade and Plume style with the chunky design. The case back has the Swiss bear mark for Silver, with the 925-fineness stamp and the reference number 7222. Inside is a good quality 15 jewel Swiss lever movement, with the deeply coloured jewels. It is keeping time to within +80 seconds a day.

The watch is presented on a new genuine leather strap for fixed lugs, which is held in place with fold over metal tabs.
