Classic and considered, utilitarian design. Tussling for notoriety during the Art Deco period was another school of design. Bauhaus. The combination of aesthetics and every day function is perfectly fused in this Omega pocket watch. A circular case with a neat oval loop, framing a circular enamel dial with clear railroad track, in-set sub second dial, clear Arabic numerals, elegant Plume style hands and clear Omega signing. Who said plain had to be boring?
Fittingly, the pocket watch is powered by a workhorse of a movement, the Calibre 38.5L T1. This movement has a beautiful, clear layout. The bridges are bevelled and there is a simple gilt frosted finish. This 15-jewel movement is incredibly robust and accurate, the perfect calibre to keep this watch ticking. The pocket watch is keeping very good time, with a daily gain of +9 seconds a day.
The dial is formed of enamel and has a classic railroad track for the minutes around the exterior. There are Arabic numeral hour markers with an inset sub-second dial. It is signed Omega, with the Omega logo. Either side of 6 O’clock it is signed Swiss Made.
The hands are original and are incredibly eye catching. They are of Plume style and are thermally blued, turning to an electric blue tone in the light.
The simple circular case is chrome plated. It is in average condition with light surface scratching. There is some wear to the finish on the left-hand side.
The case back is in good condition for its age. There is some wear to the finish to the left-hand side of the back. The inside of the case back is signed Omega, Fab.Suisse, Swiss Made. It has the serial number 9460728. The text is clear and is in good condition.
This is a beautiful, classic example, in very good original condition.

The hands are original and are thermally blued. They are of Plume style. They are in good condition with an even and bright blued tone. The sub-second hand is also original.
Glass:
The pocket watch glass would appear to be original. It is in good condition with some light marking to the centre.
Crown and loop:
The crown is original and is in good condition. The loop is original and is in good condition with light surface scratching.
Case:
The case is chrome plated. There is light surface scratching consistent with age. There are no dents to the front or sides. It is in average condition with light surface scratching. There is some wear to the finish on the left-hand side.
Caseback:
The case back is in good condition for its age. It is chrome plated and has light surface scratching. There is some wear to the finish to the left-hand side of the back.
Inside of caseback:
The inside of the caseback is signed Omega, Fab.Suisse, Swiss Made. It has the serial number 9460728. The text is clear and is in good condition. There are light surface scratches inside consistent with ageing.
Inner case back:
The inner case back is in good condition with only light surface scratches. It has perlage finishing to the inside.
Movement:
The movement is an Omega 38.5L T1 from 1935. It is stem wind and set and has a jewel count of 15. It has a frequency of 18,000 BPH and a power reserve of 38 hours. The movement was first introduced in 1933.
The service history is unknown, and the pocket watch hasn’t been serviced by us. The movement is in good condition for its age cosmetically and is keeping time very well. It has a daily gain of +9 seconds a day, with an amplitude of 275 and a beat error of 5.0m/s.
