For sale we have a beautiful 1946 Record 9ct rose gold watch. It has a neat octagonal tonneau shaped case measuring 26mm. It has a silver satin dial with sub-second dial, rose gold foil numerals and signed record Swan logo. Inside is a Record 107 manual wind movement, functioning well.

The dial has a classic silver satin tone. The appealing aspects of this dials design are the well-executed Record Swan logo signing and the rose gold foil numerals which shine in the light. The sub-second dial has a nice bit of texture with the circular grained finish. There are simple dash markers around the exterior. The sword style hands are neat and original, in a gold tone.

The case is of a neat proportion, measuring 26mm x 29mm, with a lug-to-lug measurement of 35.5mm. Despite these petite strict proportions, the style of the case and the way it catches the light gives the watch wrist presence. It is an octagonal shape to the front, with elements of a tonneau shape with the sides and continuation of the lugs. It is a beautiful and warm rose gold tone, which matches excellently with the foil hour markers.

The hinged case back opens and inside it is signed with British hallmarking from London assay office, dating to 1946/47.

The movement is a record calibre 107 which is a manual wind 15 jewel movement. Record produced their own calibres, which is an aspect that makes their watches great value for money. It is in great condition and is keeping time to within +20 seconds a day.

Overall, this is a clean and classic watch, with a lovely dial design, case design and to top it off, it has a warm rose gold tone. With a Record in-house calibre inside, this is a lovely watch for the money. This is also the reason we have sold many examples from this era.
