For sale we have a very pleasing 1950s Accurist Automatique Salmon dial dress watch with sweep central second hand. It has a Felsa 690 Bidynator movement inside which is a rose gold tone.
Apart from the beating heart of the movement, the bidynator, the highlights of this watch are the dial and handset. The dial is a beautiful salmon tone with a satin finish. The Arabic hour numerals are a gold satin tone with black outline and classic font. The outside of the dial has a white chapter ring for the minute/seconds with accurate 1/5 second graduations. This is a very neatly laid out and aesthetically pleasing dial with a salmon dial tone which is increasingly used in modern watches. The hands are of a diamond shape and are thermally blued which has evenly aged to a dark tone. The central second hand is painted red with an arrow pointer to the tip. This pairs well with the detailed 1/5 second graduations and highlights the necessity of accuracy.
The case measures 32.75mm x 32.75mm with a lug-to-lug measurement of 42.5mm. It is well proportioned and neat on the wrist, with the lugs adding to its presence. The front is chrome plated and has some signs of wear on the tips of the lugs as expected.
The case back is Stainless Steel and is signed with the Accurist name. It has a linear brushed finish. Inside it has a Felsa 690 Bidynator automatic movement. This is a well-constructed and aesthetically pleasing movement. It is famous as being the first mass patented bi-directional automatic calibre, hence the special patented name Bidynator. The movement has been recently serviced by us.
