Here we have a clean and classic mid-century Gents wrist watch from Fears, Bristol, England. It dates to the early 1950s and is a nice example of a chrome cased watch with stainless steel back and fancy lug design. The aged silver dial is a lovely tone, with an even speckled patina. The minute/seconds track is around the exterior, with the gold tone foil Arabic numerals shining in the light. Below 12 it is signed with the Fears name and is marked 15 jewels.
The gold tone hands are original, with the central second hand indicating the seconds to 1/5th of a second accuracy with the outer scale.
As far as chrome cases go for this age of watch, it is good with no obvious pitting and some scratching. The case measures 27mm x 27mm, with a total lug-to-lug length of 38mm adding significant presence. This is a well-proportioned Gents watch from the period. The case back is stainless steel and is signed with the reference 11326.
Inside is the Swiss made manual wind AS 1187 movement. It has not been serviced but is keeping reliable time.
A lovely example of mid-century design with the Fears Bristol name.
