The watch is presented on a period Expandro Stainless Steel expanding bracelet. Inside is the manual wind Zodiac calibre 1094, which has been recently serviced and is keeping accurate time to within +15 seconds a day.
The dial is eye-catching, with its silver satin centre with the blue crosshair to the centre. The Zodiac signing is in a luxurious gold tone, whilst the chapter ring has large and impressive, three-dimensional claw hour markers. They angle upwards and then down towards the dial, to a point. This creates a sharp and atmospheric feel to the dial.
The case measures 34mm x 34mm, with an impressive lug-to-lug measurement of 41mm giving significant presence. The bezel is smooth, with a polished finish. It angles down towards the flat polished case sides. The lugs are of a subtle horn lug design, with drilled holes. They are long and have a curvature which allows the watch to fit the wrist neatly.
The screw back has the “Zodiac Glorious” signing, with twin fish logo. It has a circular grained finish which is good. Inside it is signed with the reference 772.
The movement is a Zodiac calibre 1094, which is an ETA 1080 base calibre. It is manual wind and has a jewel count of 17. It has a power reserve of 40 hours and a frequency of 18,000 BPH. It also has the benefit of shock protection. The movement has been recently serviced and is keeping time to +15 seconds a day.
This is a dramatic mid-century design by Zodiac, which has a number of quality design touches that make it a joy to wear. The movement is of a good quality too, with the benefit of its recent service.
