For sale we have a unique Miramar Geneve dress watch from the 1960s. It is in very good original condition and comes with its original hangtag.

There are many neat design touches that make this a standout dress watch. The gold-plated case is an oval shape with curved sides and an etched chequered design. The silver sunburst dial is eye catching with neat rose gold tone hour markers and fragmented circle tying in the design. The case back is stainless steel with a manual wind FHF movement calibre inside.

 

The case is gold plated and is in very good original condition. It is well proportioned with a 34mm width and 35.75mm length. It has polished sides and lugs, with a complex etched chequered finish to the top and bottom of the bezel. It is a very neat oval shape with curved sides.

 

The case back is Stainless Steel, having a polished finish and has some marks associated with poor opening. It is signed “Miramar Geneve 1125”.

 

The dial is in near perfect original condition, apart from a few light marks. It has a silver satin base tone with a sunburst finish.  The hour markers are very thinly applied in a rose gold tone with larger markers for 9,12,3,6. There is a segmented circle around the dial which is black painted and frames the overall hour marker design very nicely, tying it into the case design. The dial is signed Miramar Geneve below 12 O’clock, with 17 jewels Incabloc and Swiss Made to the foot of the dial.

 

The hands are original and are in perfect condition. They are of facetted Dauphine style in a rose gold tone. The crown is original. It is recessed into the case and is a rose gold tone, matching the hour markers and handset. It has a coin edge finish and is signed “M”.

 

The watch is on a new brown leather strap which is in good condition. It will fit up to a 8 inch wrist diameter.

 

The movement is an FHF 72. It dates from 1963-1971. It has a jewel count of 17 and a frequency of 18,000 BPH. It has Incabloc shock protection and a sweep second hand. The ratchet wheel is signed Miramar Geneve. The service history is unknown; however the movement is in good condition keeping good time. It has a daily gain of +30 seconds, with an amplitude of 225 degrees and a beat error of 9.9 m/s.

Dial:

The dial is in near perfect original condition, apart from a few light marks. It has a silver satin base tone with a sunburst finish.  The hour markers are very thinly applied in a rose gold tone with larger markers for 9,12,3,6. There is a segmented circle around the dial which is black painted and frames the overall hour marker design very nicely, tying it into the case design. The dial is signed Miramar Geneve below 12 O’clock, with 17 jewels Incabloc and Swiss Made to the foot of the dial.

 

Hands:

The hands are original. They are in perfect condition. They are of facetted Dauphine style in a rose gold tone.

 

Glass:

The acrylic crystal is a replacement which is in good condition.

 

Crown:

The crown is original. It is recessed into the case and is a rose gold tone, matching the hour markers and handset. It has a coin edge finish and is signed “M”.

 

Case:

The case is gold plated and is in very good original condition. It has polished sides and lugs, with a complex etched chequered finish to the top and bottom of the bezel. It is a very neat oval shape with curved sides. It has some light surface scratching, but no wear to the gold plating.

 

Caseback:

The case back is Stainless Steel and is in good condition. It has a polished finish and has some marks associated with poor opening. It is signed “Miramar Geneve 1125”. It is also signed Incabloc, Stainless Steel Back, Swiss made, Antimagnetic, waterproof.

 

Strap:
