Here we have a good, original example of a 1961 Omega Seamaster ref 14765-61SC which has a 34mm stainless steel case. It has a silver satin dial with sunburst finish and the three-dimensional applied hour markers. The case is designed with thin straight lugs and the neat circular case. It has a monocoque case design with the sea horse motif to the rear. To the right is the reference correct, original crown with Omega signing. Inside is a serviced calibre 552 automatic movement, which has been recently serviced.
The dial is original with the silver satin sunburst finish, which catches the eye when you turn your wrist, as the dial reflects the light. It has applied silver baton markers, with larger facetted and bevelled markers at 12, 3, 6 & 9. To the base of the hour markers are the original, aged luminous plots. The Omega logo is applied, with the automatic text and stylised Seamaster signing below. The dial is signed Swiss made to the base.
The silver luminous stick style hands are original and correct with the aged luminous in-fill to the centre. The tapered central second hand is a neat design. They are protected the replacement genuine Omega crystal, with Omega logo etching to the centre.
The 34mm case is formed of stainless steel and has a 40mm lug-to-lug measurement, adding to the presence on the wrist. The case is original and unpolished. The circular centre of the case has an angled polished bezel, with the dished design to the sides, angling inwards to meet the flat face of the case back. The case back has the hippocampus motif which is clear and well defined. The case has water resistant properties with the single piece design. The crown is removed with its split stem system, with the crystal being removed, to access the movement. The crown is original with its gapped knurled design and Omega signing.
Inside, the case is signed with the Omega logo and the model reference. It has the ‘CB’ signing for Le Centrale Boites, a case maker for Omega who produced famous speedmaster cases amongst others.
Inside, the calibre 552 movement which has the rose gold tone finishing. It is an automatic movement with a jewel count of 24. It has a frequency of 19,800 BPH.
The movement has been recently serviced. It’s keeping time to +20 seconds a day, with an amplitude of 290 degrees and a beat error of 0.1 m/s.

Dial:
The dial is original and is in decent condition for the age. The silver finish has speckled ageing, with light surface scratching. The signing is good and clear. The applied markers and Omega logo are good. To the base of the hour markers is the original luminous plots.
Hands:
The hands are original, of stick style. They have the aged luminous in-fill to the centre. They have light spotted corrosion associated with age. They are all original.
Glass:
The acrylic crystal is a genuine Omega replacement with the etching to the centre. It is in perfect condition.
Crown:
The Omega crown is original and the logo is good and clear.
Case:
The case is Stainless Steel and is in good original condition. It has polished finishing with light surface scratching.
Caseback:
The case back is formed of steel and is in good condition for the age. It is solid, with the monocoque case design. The seahorse logo is good and clear, with only light surface scratching. There is a personal engraving of a postcode to the base. This is relatively light and can be polished if desired.
Strap:
The watch comes on a new genuine leather strap (non-omega), with a stainless steel buckle (non-omega).
