Here we have an uncommon example of a 1967 Omega Seamaster Chronometer in an 18ct gold case. It is the reference 168.022 with the case having the poincon de maitre 174 for Huguenin SA. It has a well sized 36mm case with the large bezel having the satin brushed sunburst finish. The screw back has the well-defined Hippocampus motif. The dial is a silver tone with the satin brushed finish. It has applied gold tone hour markers with the black stripe to the centre. The Omega logo is applied below 12, with the Chronometer signing and Seamaster name. The date window has the facetted surround to the right. It has the original Omega signed crown. Inside it has the Swiss hallmarking for 18ct gold. The movement is an Omega calibre 564, Chronometer grade which is keeping time to within chronometer standards.
The dial has the silver satin base tone, with the linear brushed finish. It has well sized gold tone baton hour markers. They have the polished finish with the black stipe to the centre. In-between it has large dash markers for the minutes and seconds. The date window is at 3 O’clock with the facetted surrounded. The date wheel has a silver finish with the black Arabic numerals. Below 12 is the applied Omega logo, with the Chronometer signing. It has the ‘Seamaster’ model signing above 6 O’clock.
The hour and minute hands are of stick style, in a polished gold tone. They have the black painted stripe matching the hour markers. It has a small luminous in-fill to the edge. The central second hand is original with the neat tapered design.
The case is well proportioned measuring 36mm wide. It has a lug-to-lug length of 42.5mm and a lug width of 19mm, which make it a well sized vintage watch. It sits comfortably on the wrist with a sleek profile and depth of 10mm.
The case is very well crafted in 18ct having been manufactured by Huguenin SA. The bezel is a standout aspect with its broad design and satin brushed sunburst finish. It sits proudly, framing the dial. It has the polished bevel to the edge which caps it nicely, reflecting the light. The case has the tapered lug design with follows the curvature of the case seamlessly. The lugs have the brushed finish to the top, with another polished bevel to the edges. The sides of the case also have the brushed finish. To the right, there is the original crown with the Omega logo. The case back screws into place and is in good condition with no noticeable marking to the notches. It has the Seamaster Hippocampus motif to the centre, which is well defined. It is surrounded by the brushed. Inside it has the Omega signing, with the Swiss hallmarking for 18ct gold. It has the poincon de maitre 174 for Huguenin S.A. It is marked with the reference 168.022.
Inside it has the Omega calibre 564 movement, which is chronometer grade, being adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. It has the classic rose gold tone finish, which is in good condition. It has been recently serviced. It’s keeping time to within + 6 seconds a day, with an amplitude of 280 degrees and a beat error of 0.3m/s.
It comes on a new genuine Omega leather strap, reference 97212073, which will fit and wrist size.

Dial:
The dial is original and is in good condition. It is a silver tone with the brushed satin finish. The applied hour markers are good, without corrosion, as is the date window and applied Omega logo. The signing is good and clear, without wear.
Hands:
The hands are original in a polished gold tone. It has the black painted section to the centre, with luminous in-fill near the tip. They are in good condition with only light marking.
Glass:
The acrylic crystal is a replacement. It does not have the Omega etching. It is in good condition with some light marks.
Crown:
The Omega crown is original, and the logo is good and clear.
Case:
The case is formed of 18ct gold and is in good condition for the age. It has the satin brushed sunburst finish to the bezel with a light polished bevel to the edge. It has the brushed finish to the top of the lugs with polished bevel. The sides have the brushed finish. It has light scratching and some nicks associated with ageing. Hallmarks to the rear of the case are good and clear.
Caseback:
The case back is formed of 18ct gold and is a screw back. It is in good original condition with the polished finish. It has the engraved Hippocampus to the centre which is very good and well defined. It is surrounded by the original brushed finish. It has some light marking associated with age.
Strap:
The watch comes on a new 19mm omega leather strap which is in brand new condition. It has a non-omega gold plated buckle.
Movement:
The movement is an Omega calibre 564. It is automatic with a jewel count of 24. It has a 50-hour power reserve with a frequency of 19,800 BPH. It is chronometer grade, with the quickset date function.
The movement has been recently serviced. It’s keeping time to within +6 seconds a day, with an amplitude of 280 degrees and a beat error of 0.3m/s.
