For sale we have a stylish 1968 Omega Seamaster dress watch, steel with gold capped top. It is the reference 166.003, with a 34mm case and straight taper lugs, with sunburst bezel finish. It has a classic dial, with a brushed sunburst finish. It has eye-catching baton hour markers with black centre and a date window at 3 O’clock. To the right is the original Omega crown and to the rear is the screw back case with Seahorse motif. Inside is the rose gold finished Omega calibre 565 automatic movement, which looks great and is functioning very well.

This gold capped reference provides the luxury appearance of gold, without the high price tag. This is the classic, everyday vintage dress watch.

It comes with its original box.

The case is well proportioned measuring 34mm x 34mm, with a lug-to-lug measurement of 42mm adding to the presence on the wrist. At a depth of 11mm, the case is very comfortable on the wrist, especially when taking into consideration the taper of the lugs. The straight taper lugs are very well balanced with the circular central section of the case, with a slight inward taper allowing them to blend well. The Seamaster motif to the rear is very good, clear and defined.

The dial is simple, yet elegant. It has a silver satin dial tone with a brushed sunburst finish radiating from the centre. The baton hour markers are applied and are eye-catching - with their polished finish and black painted centre, which matches the hands. The date window is neatly balanced at 3 O’clock, with a applied gold tone boarder. The baton style hands match the hour markers with lumed tip and black painted central block. The signing is good and clear, with applied Omega logo below 12. It is protected by the original Omega crystal, with Omega etching to the centre.

Inside is the Automatic Omega cal 565. It has a jewel count of 24, with sweep second and has a date function. The date is quickset by pulling the crown out. It has a frequency of 19,800 BPH, with a 50-hour power reserve. The rose gold tone finish is good and it is keeping time to -10 seconds a day.
