Here we have an elegant ultra-thin Corum 18ct gold dress watch from 1969. The case is wears well with its 34mm case width, large dial and broad flat bezel design. It is signed as the reference 8621-15 and has both Swiss and British hallmarking inside. The case has the makers mark for Wenger, who produced some excellent cases. The dial is a lightly aged silver tone with the black roman numerals and the applied Corum key logo. To the right is the neat crown with sapphire cabochon inset. The case back snaps on and has the 18k signing to the rear. The movement is an ultra-thin Frederic Piguet calibre 21, which is manual wind. It is keeping reliable time.
The dial is a silver tone which has developed a lightly darkened tone with age. It has a matte finish with the black painted roman numeral hour markers. It is signed Corum below 12 with the applied Corum key logo in the gold tone. To the base, the dial is signed Swiss made. The hands are of a thin stick style in the gold tone with a mirror polished finish. Class dress watch design all round.
The case is a pleasing design with its slightly larger than average dress dimension of 34mm x 34mm. Further presence is added by the 38.5mm lug-to-lug length and the 20mm strap width. These dimensions, combined with the ultra-thin depth of 4mm make this such a unique wear on the wrist. The size of the dial and the broad flat bezel create an intriguing coin shaped feel which is further aided by the flat acrylic crystal. The lugs are of a thin, lightly tapered design which complement the delicate nature of the case. To the right-hand side is the neat crown with the sapphire cabochon inset.
The case back snaps on and has the 18k mark to the bottom. Inside it is signed with Swiss hallmarking for 18ct gold, with the Corum name and the case reference 8621-15. It has the Poincon de maitre for Wenger, one of the most prestigious and longest established case makers. They are known for stainless steel and gold cases of intricate design. It also has British hallmarking from London assay office dating it to 1969.
Inside is the beautiful Frederic Piguet Cal 21, ultra-thin manual wind movement. It measures just 1.74mm thick and is marked as adjusted to three positions. The service history is unknown, but it is in good condition. It’s keeping time to within -30 seconds a day, with an amplitude of 250 degrees and a beat error of 1.2m/s.

The dial is original and is in decent condition for the age. It is a silver tone with have darkened slightly with age. It has the black painted roman numerals and Corum signing which is good and clear. The Corum logo is applied to the dial and has some corrosion.
Hands:
The hands are original and are in decent condition for the age. They have a gold polished finish which shines. They have some marking associated with age.
Glass:
The crystal is original and is in good condition with some light marking.
Crown:
The crown is original, with the sapphire cabochon inset. It is in good condition.
Case:
The case is 18ct yellow gold and is in average condition for the age. The bezel has scratching associated with age. The sides of the case have the polished finish.
Caseback:
The case back is formed of 18ct yellow gold and is in average condition, having been polished. There are signs of deeper past scratching. The 18k stamp is visible to the bottom.
Strap:
The watch is on a genuine leather strap which is in good condition.
Movement:
The movement is a Frederic Piguet Cal 21 is an ultra-thin manual wind movement. It measures just 1.74mm thick. It has a jewel count of 18 and a frequency of 18,000 BPH. It is marked as adjusted to three positions.
