For sale we have a 1970s Favre-Leuba watch, reminiscent of the Patek Philippe’s Ellipse in terms of styling. It has an oval stainless steel case, with brushed finishing and a solid case back design. The Favre-Leuba signed crown is to the right hand side. The purple dial has a linear brushed finish and a deep tone. The white painted Roman numerals catch the eye, with white painted index hands. The case back is signed with the reference 24333. Inside is the ETA calibre 2512-1 movement, which is keeping reliable time. A stylish watch which punches well above its price point in terms of design.

Dial: 
The dial is in good condition. It is a dark purple tone with a linear brushed finish. The hour markers and white painted. There are some slight marks and some spotting, but it is a good example for the age.
 
Hands: 
The hands are original and are of index style. They are in good condition with some wear to the black paint to the base. The white is bright and good. 
 
Glass: 
The acrylic crystal is original and is in decent condition. It has some scratches associated with ageing.  
 
Crown: 
The crown is original with the Favre-Leuba logo. It has some slight wear to the chrome plated finish.
 
Case:
The case is stainless steel and is in good condition with light surface scratching. It has a brushed finish with a good shine. There are no major marks.
 
Caseback:
The case back is solid and is Stainless Steel. It is in good condition with brushed finish and clear engraving. It has some small light scratches. 
 
Strap: 
The watch comes on genuine leather strap, which is non original.
 
Movement:
The movement is an ETA 2512-1. It is a manual wind movement, with a jewel count of 17 and a frequency of 21,600 BPH. 
 
The service history is unknown. The movement is in good condition and is keeping reliable time. It keeps time to within -30 seconds a day, with an amplitude of 240 and a beat error of 2.2 m/s.
