For sale we have a very nice example of a 1980s Tag Heuer Professional 1000 200m divers watch, ref 980.613B. This example has a blue dial and bezel combo which is very eye-catching.
The no-nonsense tool/diver watch was produced between 1981-1984. It went on to become one of the company’s best selling models, lasting into the early 90s under the Tag Heuer name. They were sold in various case sizes, dial colours and with quartz or automatic movements. This example is from the late 1980s with a non-tritium dial.
The case is Stainless Steel and is in good condition. The lugs have a brushed finish to the top, whilst the sides are polished. It measures 37mm x 37mm. The crown guard brings the width to 40mm. The lugs are neatly designed with a slight bevel to the side. The case back is Stainless Steel and is in good condition with only light surface scratches. It is signed with the reference 980.613B. The bezel is in good original condition with polished finish to the edges. The bezel insert is a deep shade of blue with silver count down numerals.
The dial is a deep blue tone which shines in the light. The hour markers are white with a white date window. The signing is clear and the silver Mercedes hands are in great condition.
The crown is original and is signed with the Tag Heuer logo. It screws down as a good dive watch should. The watch has had a new Sapphire crystal fitted which is in perfect condition and passes depth testing.
The bracelet is original and has the reference 195/6. The clasp is signed Tag Heuer. It has a brushed finish. It will fit an 8” wrist diameter and has dive extension.
The movement is an ETA calibre 955.112 with 7 jewels. The movement should be an ETA 955.114 branded as a Tag Heuer, however when a movement is faulty an entire module exchange is often carried out. This means the movement is the same, just without the small Tag Heuer signing. The movement has been recently serviced by ourselves and has had a new battery fitted. It has a monthly gain of +3 seconds.
