For sale we have a nice example of a 1990s Le Cheminant dress watch. It has a gold-plated case, with a stylish lug design and a neat onion style crown to the right. The dial is white, with black painted roman numerals, Le Cheminant signing and a date window to 3 O’clock with magnifying cyclops on the crystal. To the rear is the exhibition case back which allows you to enjoy the beauty of the ETA 2824-2 movement. The movement has been recently serviced and is keeping good time.

The case measures 34mm x 34.5mm, with a lug-to-lug measurement of 43mm, making this a neat watch with classic dress watch proportions. Despite this, the lug-to-lug length gives the watch good presence on the wrist. The circular centre of the case is well designed with a double stepped design, with the bezel curving outwards, before the case curves neatly. The lugs are of a curved dog leg design, with cut out to the base. These are well designed and add complexity to the case. To the right is the onion style crown, which matches the vintage inspired look of the watch well.

The dial is a white enamel effect, with black painted Arabic numerals. It has subtle gold markers for the intervals of 5, with simple dot markers for the rest. The hands are of a nice design, with black painted hour and minutes. The central second hand is good and well sized. There is an aperture at 3 O’clock for the date window. The crystal is original and has a magnifier for the date.

To the rear, there is a stainless-steel screw back which has an exhibition glass, allowing the movement to be viewed. The movement is a gold tone which matches the case of the watch. It is an ETA 2824-2 which has been recently serviced and is keeping time to within +15 seconds a day. It has a hi-beat rate of 28,800 BPH with shock protection. It is a well-known, beautiful workhorse of a movement.

Overall, this is a stylish, vintage inspired 1990s Le Cheminant watch. It has neat design touches with its enamel effect dial, roman numerals, lug design, onion crown and exhibition case back with quality movement.
