Here we a good looking and well made early 2000s Titoni watch, which is designed to be a reliable everyday wear. It has a 34mm stainless-steel case, with an intriguing mix of satin and polished finishes. It is two-tone, with the polished gold tone bezel and onion style crown. The lugs have a stepped design which catches the eye. The bracelet is a good length with the brushed finish and gold-plated accents. It has a bright white dial with clear applied hour markers and date window at 3 O’clock. It is signed to the case back and inside it has the ETA 2824-2 movement, which is keeping reliable time.
The dial is a bright white tone with the polished finish which is reminiscent of enamel dials. It has the detailed minute/second track around the outside, with the single second and half second dashes. The 5 second markers have the thick black block. The hour markers are applied in a gold tone with the polished finish. They are of baton design with the rounded top. The markers at 6, 9 and 12 are larger with the tapered bullet design and are set with lume plots for legibility. They balance well with the date window at 3, which has the applied, bevelled edge surround. Below 12 O’clock is the applied Titoni flower logo and name. The pop of red in the flower is a nice touch which catches the eye. Above 6 O’clock is the ‘Automatic 25 jewel’ signing.
The hands are of index style with the gold tone mirror polished finish and the luminous in-fill. The central second hand is simple and tapered, clearly indicating the seconds. The dial and hands are protected by the flat sapphire crystal.
The case is neatly proportioned, measuring 34mm wide, with added presence from the crown guard and large crown, taking the total width to 36.75mm. The length of the tri-stepped lugs brings the lug-to-lug length to 40mm, which also adds presence. With a depth of 9mm, it is a comfortable wear on the wrist.
The standout aspect of the design is certainly the lugs. From the side the swooping downturn to the ends of each step are clearly visible and create an interesting, flared design. The tri-step is visible from the side profile and the front. The outer section of the lugs has a thinner double step with the satin finish. The inner section of the lug is wider with the polished finish, which provides a good blend into the end links. The bezel is another eye-catching accent, in the gold tone with the polished finish. It neatly frames the dial. The sides of the case are curved as they fall away from the bezel, before straightening out to meet the underside. To the right the case juts out with the two polished accents either side forming the crown guard. Between them is the gold tone onion style crown which is a lovely design.
The case back is polished with the textured centre to the flat face. It is signed with the ‘Titoni’, the features and reference and serial number.
Inside is the Titoni signed ETA 2824-2 which has a hi-beat rate of 28,800 BPH, quickset date and hacking seconds. It is keeping accurate time to +10 seconds variation a day.
The bracelet is Stainless Steel with its correct end links. It has a nice H link design with the brushed finish and the polished gone tone accents. The clasp is signed with the Titoni name and logo, with the brushed finish. It is long and will fit any wrist size.
