For sale we have a 2018 Michel Herbelin reference 12442.B. It is a fascinating 36mm cased watch, with a stainless steel and gold-plated two-tone finishing. It has a thin case profile, with a standout bezel with 6 gold tone notches and brushed stainless surround. The white tone bezel has black roman numerals and applied gold tone accents. It has a date function at 6 O’clock. It has a good build quality with a sapphire crystal, screw down crown and an ETA 955.412 movement inside. This is a watch designed for dress and sport wear, a real jack of all trades, with a styling reminiscent of the 1990s. 
 
Michel Herbelin ventured into the world of watchmaking in 1947, creating his own workshop and watches, at the age of 26. His first watch was named “Impec”. He sought to create elegant and reliable watches, under the name ‘Impeccable’. He was proud of French watchmaking and highlighted that with ‘Made In France’ on the dials. He relied on French and Swiss suppliers, located near Charquemont, in the Jura mountains. The family still run the business and continue to make watches in France, to this day.

Dial: 
The white dial is in very good condition. It has black roman numerals with ‘Michel Herbelin’ signing, which is all good. The applied gold tone hour markers are good with no marking. 
 
Hands: 
The hands are original of baton design, in a gold tone. The central second hand is black painted. They are in excellent condition.
 
Glass: 
The sapphire crystal is original and is in good condition with no obvious marking. 
 
Crown: 
The screw down crown functions well and screws down as it should. It has the Herblin logo. 
 
Case:
The case is formed of Stainless Steel and is in decent condition with light surface scratches. The brushed finish on the bezel is good with some light marks. It has the polished finish to the sides. The lugs are well shaped with light scratching to the polished finish.
 
Caseback:
The case back is stainless steel and is in decent original condition. It has noticeable light surface scratching. The original laser engraving is good. 
 
Bracelet:
The watch is on its original stainless-steel bracelet. It has polished links, with gold flanked links to the centre. It has light surface scratching associated with age and some light loss of gold plating. The hidden clasp secures well. It will fit up to an 8” wrist circumference. 
 
Movement: 
The movement is an ETA reference 955.412. It is a quartz movement, with a jewel count of 7. It has a quickset date function. It has had a new battery fitted and is functioning well.
