Here we have a good pre-owned example from 2022 of a Longines Conquest VHP, in a 36mm stainless steel case with a bright white dial. It is the reference L33164766.
It comes on its original stainless-steel bracelet, with the extra links in the box. It comes with its full original inner and outer box, with the signed warranty card and manual.
The dial is surrounded by the slanted white chapter ring for the minute/second markers. The dial is a bright white tone with the grained concentric circles radiating from the centre. It has a fun pop of colour with the minute dashes in a red tone. The hour markers are silver with the mirror polished finish and the super luminova centre. The 12 and 6 marker are Arabic which adds a focal point to the dial. At 3 O’clock there is a date window with the bevelled surround and black outline. The dial has the Longines name below 12 with the applied winger hour-glass logo. It is signed V.H.P In red which matches with the minute markers and the tip of the central second. The hands are of a clear stick style with the bevelled centre and super luminova in-fill. It is an excellent dial design.
The styling of the case and bracelet is considered and stands out. It has a polished bezel which falls away from the flat sapphire crystal. The sides of the case curve and have the brushed finish. The lugs have a sharp downturn which makes it a comfortable wear on the wrist, when combined with the lug-to-lug length. This leads it to blend seamlessly into the bracelet. The crown guard sits to the right and has a curved design which catches the eye. The crown has a knurled edge which makes it easy to use, with the winged hourglass logo to the polished face. The case back screws into place and has the winged hourglass raised engraving. It is signed with the reference number, specifications and the Conquest model name. It has a neat, brushed finish surrounding it.
The bracelet continues the brushed finishing and has a neat butterfly clasp which adds to the seamless look.
It is a versatile watch that is rugged and can serve as your daily companion with ease.
Inside it has the Longines Conquest V.H.P calibre L288.2. It is notable for its high degree of precision and its use of gear position detection system that quickly resets the watches hands after an impact or exposure to a magnetic field. It benefits from a long battery life of nearly five years.
The hours and minutes adjust in one-hour leaps, with a sweep of the crown. Longines give this option due to the hyper-accuracy, assuming that you would only need to change the time when travelling between time zones, or for daylight savings. Yet you can change the minutes traditionally too.
On a personal note, I really enjoy the 36mm case sizing on my 7” wrist. It is a comfortable daily wear, that is highly legible but doesn’t get in your way. It still packs a punch with the addition of the crown guard and the lug-to-lug length.
All things considered, the design and accuracy of the model make it a quality watch for the price point.
